Powered by a 1,550-hp Cat 3512B engine, the 300,000-pound 3000SM Surface Miner can trench through rock 10 feet wide and up to 26 inches deep in a single pass. Its suspension can cut slopes up to 15 degrees to meet exacting road construction and drainage requirements without unnecessary backfilling.
